Dog mental enrichment and behaviour training

Field Dogs 300 x 600
Do you find your dog barking for no reason, or are they digging in the back garden and causing havoc?
Maybe they are super excited and over the top when visitors come, to the point where no one wants to visit any more?

If this sounds all too common, the reasons probably stems from lack of mental enrichment and training too.

Dogs are like humans and need mental stimulation and guidance to be more successful in achieving good behaviour.

Experts have discovered that the more intelligent dogs are the most well behaved.

It makes sense really, if you are looking to ask a dog to do something you want them to, if it’s brain is switched on and engaged they are more likely to follow the command.

On the flip side a lot of bad behaviour also comes from boredom so it’s super important to stimulate your dogs brain and keep it active.

Aka, “would I rather play with this ball that gives little treats as I roll it around, or eat that tasty £200 pair of shoes my owner foolishly left in the kitchen when they went out”

Here I am playing with my treat ball, I love it! It keeps me mentally stimulated, and out of mischief!

When you look at it that way it seems so simple?

The good news is that no matter how intelligent you think your dog is, their brain power can be tapped in to in order to help with any behavioural issues they may have.

The following link is to a page that will highlight how this can be done, and successfully!

If at the moment you are spending more time at home due to covid-19, maybe you are working from home, furloughed or self isolating, why not put this time to good use. It will benefit your fury friend as well as yourself. When guests next come over they will not recognise their behaviour!

Best get more biscuits in as they will visit more often. Especially when they watch the new tricks your little monkey can perform now they are fully mentally stimulated.

Here is a video example of some of the training in action, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what your dog can achieve when they are mentally stimulated and engaged.
